As I begin my withdrawal from social media I’ve discovered that many of the thoughts/topics that filled my mind no longer seem interesting to me. Of course, much of the time was consumed with obtaining information for topics on a regular podcast I did for almost 8 years. Now that I no longer do that particular podcast I’ve come to realize that the time consumed in research no longer appeals to me. The revelation has been that although my efforts to inform and reveal insights to the listeners were sincere, the information itself had no eternal value. It changed minds, gave knowledge, may have touched a heart but didn’t change, heal or repair a soul. It had no eternal value. My desire now is to focus on things that have eternal value.
Philippians 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
